Espresso is one of the hot new flavors of vodka and Ice Shot Ltd. has released a Deep Espresso Vodka which is rich and has a great roasted bean flavor to it. If you’re looking for an delectable coffee-flavored martini this is a tasty and easy way to get one. The vodka is rather thick, but that’s to be expected when working with espresso and with a few ice cubes it makes a great after dinner sipper. When mixing this espresso into cocktails I highly recommend putting it against citrus or tropical flavors that balance its darkness. The drinks below are great examples, one with orange and the other with amaretto and coconut.
Ice Shot Deep Espresso Vodka
- 1½ parts Ice Shot Deep Espresso Vodka
- 1 part coconut rum
- ½ part amaretto liqueur
Shake rum and amaretto with ice and strain into chocolate rimmed martini glass. Shake vodka with ice and layer into martini glass.
What you need:
- 2 oz Ice Shot Deep Espresso Vodka
- 1 oz gin
- 1/2 oz dry vermouth
- Dash of orange bitters
- Coffee beans or burnt orange peel for garnish
Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Shake well. Drink responsibly!
Irish Coffee Drop
What you need:
- 1 oz Ice Shot Deep Espresso Vodka
- 1 oz Irish cream liqueur
Pour the Irish cream liqueur into a shot glass, after put the vodka on top. Pour the Guinness into a pint glass or beer mug 3/4 of the way full and let settle. Drop the shot glass into the Guinness and chug.
